MJSH Earns Accreditation for Internal Medicine Residency Program
Manuel J. Santos Hospital has reached another milestone as its Department of Internal Medicine successfully completed the Provisional 1 Accreditation Process conducted by the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) Committee on Accreditation.
This achievement recognizes MJSH as a training institution for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in medical education, patient care, and professional growth. With the guidance of its consultants, residents, and the IM Training Core Team, the hospital continues to shape future internists who embody competence, compassion, and commitment in service.

MJSH Holds Inaugural White Coat Ceremony for Internal Medicine Residency Program
Manuel J. Santos Hospital proudly marked a new chapter in its journey toward medical excellence with the inaugural White Coat Ceremony for its Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. This historic event signifies the hospital’s continued commitment to medical education and patient-centered care in Butuan and the Caraga region.
The ceremony celebrated the formal transition of MJSH’s pioneer batch of Internal Medicine residents into the clinical phase of their professional journey. The white coat, a universal symbol of the medical profession, embodies not only clinical competence and ethical practice but also compassionate care—values deeply rooted in Pusong Santos.
The first batch of Internal Medicine residents includes Dr. Mary Jesse E. Andales, Dr. Roven Doyle B. Basco, Dr. Luv Rued T. Tahil, and Dr. Llord Gendel S. Verceles.

MJSH Hosts Stroke Champions Training Program
In partnership with the Stroke Society of the Philippines, Manuel J. Santos Hospital (MJSH) successfully conducted the BEST PH: Training the Stroke Champions Program, a one-day seminar on Acute Stroke Recognition, Evaluation, and Management held at the MJSH Medical Arts Building.
Spearheaded by Dr. Janet J. Santiago, the event gathered around 100 healthcare professionals from hospitals across Caraga and Northern Mindanao—all united in their mission to strengthen stroke care and improve patient outcomes. Participants included teams from Butuan Doctors Hospital, ACE Butuan Medical Center, Agusan del Norte Provincial Hospital, Butuan Medical Center, and San Isidro Polymedic General Hospital of Gingoog City, as well as MJSH’s sister hospital, San Francisco Doctors Hospital
The training reaffirmed MJSH’s commitment to advancing medical excellence through continuing education, ensuring that healthcare professionals remain prepared to provide timely, accurate, and life-saving stroke care.
